Jerry W Jones, Artist/Sculptor
Jerry studied art at the University of Southern Mississippi where he earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in Drawing and Painting. He enjoys working in oil, acrylic, pencil, pen and bronze. His works are representational images of wildlife and southern land and seascapes. He is especially focused on capturing movement and the extraordinary variety of color found in God’s creation.
In his travels around the country, Jerry has been an artist member of the Carbon County Art Guild (Red Lodge, Montana), The Ouachita River Art Guild (West Monroe, Louisiana) and the Mississippi Painter’s Society (Tupelo, MS). Jerry has participated in many exhibits and festivals as both a painter and sculptor. His bronze piece “Forty Yards Out” was honored in 2017 with Best in Show in the Art of the Hunt show in Charleston, MS and the sculpture award at Arts Alive in Tullahoma, TN in 2018. In the fall of 2019 Jerry completed his first life-size bronze, a monument to honor all female military veterans which was installed in Bossier City, Louisiana, on Veteran’s Day of 2020. He was awarded Best of Show at the 2022 Gulf Breeze Celebrates the Arts Festival in Gulf Breeze, Florida.
Jerry works full time in his studio located at 5540 Waterpointe Cove in Tupelo, MS. Commissions are accepted and visitors are welcome to visit his studio by appointment.
